Decorative Umbrella “Tsuki to Usagi” (Moon & Rabbit)
The Gion Festival colors the summer in Kyoto.
This festival, which has a history of over a thousand years,
has stories and wishes embedded in each of its yamaboko floats.
This summer, inspired by its beautiful designs and history,
we have created a "decorative umbrella" handcrafted by Kyoto wagasa artisans.

Decorative Umbrella “Tsuki to Usagi” (Moon & Rabbit)
This decorative umbrella draws inspiration from the moon and rabbit motif carved into the Tsukihoko float of the Gion Festival.

The moon floating above the sea is rendered in gold washi paper, while the rabbit racing across the waves is depicted in sumi ink, evoking the world associated with the Tsukihoko float.
A finishing touch of gold powder adds a a subtle shimmer reminiscent of moonlight glowing across the night sky.
A piece that captures both the tranquility and splendor of Kyoto.

These exceptional pieces capture the essence of the Gion Festival, the very symbol of Kyoto’s summer, with the form of a small decorative umbrella.
We invite you to enjoy them as seasonal accents for your home or as a gift to someone special.
