Wagasa Stand — An Elegant Display for Traditional Japanese Umbrellas
"I want to beautifully display my favorite wagasa."
This wagasa-specific umbrella stand was developed with wood craftsmen, inspired by customer requests such as this.

Not only does this stand make an elegant display piece, it can also be used for drying umbrellas. Crafted from durable oak with excellent moisture resistance, it is well suited to both purposes.
Inspired by the Traditional Japanese Art of Kigumi Joinery
To ensure the stand can securely support the weight of a wagasa, every aspect of its design, from the thickness of the wood to the length of each component, was carefully refined and tested down to the millimeter.
The stand also incorporates principles of kigumi, a traditional Japanese woodworking and joinery technique used in historic architecture. The result is a design that is simple, elegant and beautifully balanced.
While reflecting the timeless aesthetics of Japanese craftsmanship, its clean, understated form blends naturally into contemporary interiors.

While evoking a Japanese aesthetic, its design blends naturally into modern spaces.
Oak That Enhances the Beauty of Wagasa
This piece is crafted from oak, selected for its beautiful grain and natural character.
Known for its strength and excellent moisture resistance, oak has been used in furniture and architectural fittings since ancient times. It also contains tannins, which provide natural insect-repellent properties, making it suitable for long-term use.
Its calm, understated tone pairs beautifully with wooden handles and washi paper, allowing the wagasa itself to stand out as the focal point.

The spot where the wagasa handle rests is fitted with a durable stainless-steel base for added strength and stability. In addition, the edges around the insertion point have been carefully chamfered, helping to prevent scratches and ensuring the delicate handle of the wagasa is gently supported and protected.

Compact Storage Design
The legs feature a rotating structure, allowing the stand to be folded compactly for easy storage.

When in use, the legs can be opened to securely support your wagasa in an upright position. When not in use, they fold down compactly for easy, space-saving storage.
The stand is ideal not only for home interiors, but also for displaying wagasa in shops, traditional inns, and galleries.
