T-Light "Lights of Yoiyama"
The Gion Festival brings vibrant color to Kyoto’s summer.
With a history spanning more than a thousand years, it is filled with stories and wishes embodied in each of its festival floats (Yamahoko).
Inspired by the beautiful design and rich history of these floats, Hiyoshiya has created the T-Light, an andon-style lamp handcrafted by Kyoto wagasa (Japanese umbrella) artisans.

T-Light “Lights of Yoiyama”
Inspired by Yoiyama, the festive evenings leading up to the Gion Festival procession, when the streets come alive with glowing lanterns, the vibrant atmosphere, and the distinctive “Konchikichin” rhythm of the traditional Gion Festival music, this T-Light captures the enchanting spirit of the season. Its hemp leaf pattern evokes the shimmering lanterns that illuminate the Yoiyama festivities.

When lit, the word “Konchikichin”, the rhythmic refrain associated with the Gion Festival music, gently emerges, adding a delightful hidden detail.

A playful design that feels as if the sounds of the Gion Festival music are gently echoing in the air.

A compact, portable cordless light that is easy to carry and enjoy anywhere, from living rooms and bedrooms to entryways, or even outdoors.

Each product includes an LED lantern, so it can be used immediately upon arrival. The lantern can also be replaced with a compatible unit if desired.
Inspired by the craftsmanship of Kyoto-style wagasa (Japanese traditional umbrellas), the light features delicate radial bamboo ribs and softly glowing handmade washi paper, which diffuses light beautifully.
