T-Light "Lights of the Gion Festival"
The Gion Festival, which brightens Kyoto's summer.
This festival, with over a thousand years of history,
has stories and wishes embedded in each of its yamaboko floats.
Inspired by their beautiful designs and history,
Hiyoshiya has created "T-Light," an andon-style light handcrafted by Kyoto wagasa (Japanese umbrella) artisans.

T-Light "Light of the Gion Festival"
This T-Light is adorned with motifs symbolizing the Gion Festival: Naginata Hoko,厄除け粽 (amulet chimaki), wagasa (Japanese umbrella), chochin (lantern), and hiougi (cypress fan).

Gansai (Japanese watercolor paints), which beautifully express traditional Japanese colors, were used for painting.
When lit, the glamour and vibrancy of the Gion Festival gently emerge,
making this a piece that evokes the summer of Kyoto.

These exquisite pieces capture the essence of the Gion Festival, a symbol of Kyoto's summer, within their andon-style lights.
Please enjoy them as seasonal decorations in your home or as gifts for loved ones.
