Decorative Parasol "Yamaboko"
The Gion Festival, which brightens Kyoto's summer.
This festival, with over a thousand years of history,
has stories and wishes embedded in each float.
This summer, inspired by its beautiful designs and history,
we have created decorative parasols crafted by Kyoto wagasa artisans.

Decorative Parasol "Yamaboko"
A decorative parasol designed with the Gion Festival floats as its motif.

When the parasol is opened, a design reminiscent of the Yamaboko Junko (float procession) spreads out, along with the crest of Yasaka Shrine.
The vibrant vermilion and gold adorning the floats,
and the deep blue woven in, like a Persian carpet,
are inspired by the luxurious and magnificent tapestries of the floats, which are also called "moving museums."

These masterpieces capture the essence of the Gion Festival, a symbol of Kyoto's summer,
within a small decorative parasol.
Please enjoy them as seasonal decorations for your home or as gifts for loved ones.
