T-Light "Wheel"
The Gion Festival brings vibrant color to Kyoto’s summer.
With a history spanning more than a thousand years, it is filled with stories and wishes embodied in each of its festival floats (Yamahoko).
Inspired by the beautiful design and rich history of these floats, Hiyoshiya has created the T-Light, an andon-style lamp handcrafted by Kyoto wagasa (Japanese umbrella) artisans.

T-Light "Wheel"
This T-Light is inspired by the large wheels that support the Yamahoko floats.

This design features deep vermilion red and indigo, recalling the ornate textiles adorning the Yamahoko floats, often described as “moving museums,” and expressing the historic colors of the Gion Festival.
A repeating wheel motif evokes the majestic sight of the Yamahoko floats making their stately procession through the streets.

These exceptional T-Lights capture the scenes of the Gion Festival, a symbol of Kyoto’s summer, in the form of an andon-style lantern.
Perfect for seasonal display in your home or as a thoughtful gift for someone special.
