T-Light “Yamahoko Crest”
The Gion Festival brings vibrant color to Kyoto’s summer.
With a history spanning more than a thousand years, it is filled with stories and wishes embodied in each of its festival floats (Yamahoko).
Inspired by the beautiful design and rich history of these floats, Hiyoshiya has created the T-Light, an andon-style lamp handcrafted by Kyoto wagasa (Japanese umbrella) artisans.

T-Light "Yamahoko Crests"
This T-Light features the crests of various yamaboko floats that adorn the Gion Festival, gathered into a single light.

The painting uses sumi ink, giving it a depth and quiet charm unique to ink.
When lit, the crests softly emerge,
evoking the history and dignity that the Gion Festival has carried through generations.

These exquisite pieces capture the scenery of the Gion Festival, a symbol of Kyoto's summer, within a lantern-style illumination.
Please enjoy them as a seasonal decoration for your home or as a gift for someone special.
