A journey where a craftsman meets a craftsman
Shogado Co., Ltd. / Matsuo Yasuhiro Kyoto

Established in 1964, Shogado initially began as a Kyoto-based wholesaler specializing in Yuzen dyed paper and "wahon," the traditional Japanese notebooks. As time passed, the company focussed on washi paper products, evolving into a prominent nationwide supplier for calligraphy, art supplies, and stationery stores.

In recent years, Shogado has made a significant mark by introducing a range of iconic Japanese design stationery products, achieving remarkable success both domestically and overseas. Among these, the "Shuin-Cho" notebook stands out as a customer favorite, featuring a beautiful Yuzen washi paper cover that offers a modern reinterpretation of traditional patterns.

With the support of the «  Contemporary Kyoto Project," Shogado has expanded its product portfolio further. Leveraging Japanese binding techniques, the company has introduced innovative items such as the Watoji Clock, the versatile Kadotoji-Cho notebook, and the foldable Tojihako paper box. These products showcase the artistry of washi paper through the revolutionary use of traditional Japanese binding techniques, creating a series of Japanese stationery that displays the beauty of this unique paper.
