〈Wajima Lacquerware〉 Bowl with Gradient Lacquer Finish
This exquisite Wajima lacquerware bowl is renowned for its robust elegance, referred to as 'Kenrou Yuubi' in Japanese. Its slightly rounded shape exudes warmth and gentleness, inviting you to hold it in your hands. This bowl is available with either a black or red interior.

A Texture Born from the Skills of Many Artisans

This beautiful bowl is crafted from zelkova wood, which is well-suited for lacquer. The red and black gradation is achieved by applying black lacquer (created by mixing iron powder with lacquer and oxidizing it) and red lacquer (made by combining red pigment with translucent brown lacquer). The boundary between these colors is skillfully blurred using a brush. Furthermore, the final coating, applied by topcoat artisans who specialize in creating glossy finishes, gives the bowl a brilliant, lustrous sheen. The lacquer, meticulously polished and layered numerous times by skilled craftsmen, provides a unique and pleasant texture that invites continuous touch.

A Gentle Presence Adding a Touch of Luxury to Your Daily Life

The lacquer bowl with its gradient lacquer finish is ideal not only for soups but also complements freshly cooked rice and a variety of other dishes with exceptional finesse. Its design enhances the overall dining experience, elevating the flavors of your meals. The bowl’s versatility and aesthetic appeal contribute to a heightened culinary experience, making every meal more enjoyable.
